Larry Keatt's System
Larry purchased one of our early efforts - a Testa Rossa style turntable - in 2002 - along with a Teflon Composite platter. When first implemented, we fitted his Kuzma Stogi Reference tonearm along with his Shelter 901 cartridge.
As currently configured, Larry's analog front end consists of:
- Testa Rossa turntable
- Stelvio Platter
- Schroeder Reference Tonearm
- ZYX Universe Cartridge
- Bent Audio Mu Step-up transformers (Stephens & Billington)
- Artemis Labs PH-1 Phono Stage
Larry will soon be re-locating to the Nashville, TN area and you'll be able to see his rig there.
Part of the Galibier experience is to teach you how to optimize your setup. Shown below, is Larry dialing in the overhang.
With fine instruments like Schroeder and Triplanar tonearms, it's all too easy to think you have your rig fully dialed in when it's only at 80%. The "problem" lies in how good they sound even when set up sub-optimally. The tendency is to stop well short of the finish line.
Setup is not limited to the obvious, basic parameters like overhang, tracking force, and azimuth. We are talking about more subtle elements - like how tight (or loose) to make a particular screw and how and where to damp an arm.
Everything counts, and the solutions are not always not obvious! We're here for you - to show you how. When you purchase from Galibier, it doesn't stop when the package arrives at your door.
At Galibier, we consider part of our job to ensure that you know how to extract 100% of your investment's potential. We consider anything less to be unacceptable - like playing a fine musical instrument when it's out of tune.
The remainder of Larry's system consists of:
- Lamm line stage and power amps
- Reimer speakers (Cody, WY)
- Audio Magic & Nordost Cables
Front end and line level components
