March 4, 2009: The "UII" designation of the Mark VII
tonearm is in part, the result of a collaboration between Galibier and Tri-Planar, and consists of adding a
fine-adjust tracking force feature.
All existing tonearms can be retrofitted with this feature (user replaceable without
having to return to Tri-Planar). This upgrade consists of a replacement end-stub. The procedure involves removing
the counterweights, unscrewing the existing stub, replacing it with the new one, and re-installing the
counterweights.
The review in the current issue of the Absolute Sound was done some two and a half
years ago and only now made it to print. Those of you with this feature have a fully current tonearm, and those
of you with a Mark VII without this feature can bring your tonearm into full currency by retrofitting this functionality.
The Tri-Planar Ultimate is one of our three reference tonearms and we are proud to offer it to you
for your analog enjoyment.
Our goal at Galibier to provide you with the finest in analog playback, and or experience with this arm
is consistent with its long standing reputation.
We are your one-stop setup resource for the Tri-Planar tonearm.
