The Stelvio-II: $34,975
(click most photos to enlarge)
The Stelvio Name:
The Stelvio is our no-compromise turntable - the application of everything we've learned about vibration control, incororating principles
of mass, damping, and state of the art materials, including the strategic use of aluminum, brass, lead, and carbon fiber.
The Stelvio customer in the continental United States receives a personal, in-home setup and mentoring session from
Galibier.
All Galibiers are proudly made in the United States, where we monitor and control every step of the manufacturing process.

The Stelvio Base and Vibration Sinking:
The base has a complex matrix of damping channels which form a two-way vibration sink:
- protecting the bearing from stand and shelf borne vibratiion
- draining any remaining vibration transmitted through the platter and into the bearing
|
Vibration is transformed into heat and drained through the mass of the base.

Arm Mounting:
The vibration theme continues, but the story doesn't end here ...
After 10 years of development and refinement, we have taken the pivoting armboard architecture to its logical end point.
With the debut of the the Stelvio-II (and soon to follow in our other Mk II turntables), you'll find arm mounts on sliding tracks with micro,
fine-adjust pivot to spindle capbability.
|
Key features:
- Pivot to spindle distance can be set to .001" precision (accomodates mounting errors for perfect alignment).
- Adjusts on sliding tracks, with fine, vernier control.
- All of the tonearm mounting flexibility of pivoting armboards, with the inherrent stability of a fixed mount.
- Option of using one or two tonearms.
|
|
Dual Tonearm Capability:
|
Key features:
- Modular approach - capable of mounting two, 12 inch (310mm) tonearms
- Modular design - either arm wing can be removed, for a single tonearm configuration.
- Moveable pillar (front, right) provides protection for cartridge, and stability point for manual record cueing. See next photo for details.
|
|
Free-standing Front Pillar:
- Discourages moving your hand under the headshell - reducing the risk of cantilever damage
- Provides an anchor point for those who prefer to manually cue their records.
- Moveable, so you can position it properly for any length tonearm

The Drive System: (click on photo for more details)
The pre-production Stelvio-II drive system made its debut at T.H.E. Show, in Newport Beach, CA in June of 2011.
We're finalizing the design, and will update this page as well as the drive system page during the Summer of 2011.

The Galiber Bearing - the heart of a Galiber:
(click on photo for more details)
The Galibier bearing has undegone continual refinement during our 10 years of development. It threads into the Stelvio-II base to better couple
and pass vibrations.
|
Key features:
- Tolrances so fine, that individual matching is performed
- Large diameter (.800") spindle for ultimate rigidity
- Self-damped by inner damping chamber
|
|
The Stelvio-II TPI © Platter: (click on photo for more details)
|
Key features:
- Composite construction, incorporating aluminum, lead, brass, and carbon fiber
- 44 pound weight, including 17 pound inner brass layer
- Internal damping chambers
- 1/4" thick, carbon fiber, TPI © top layer

Implementation:
- Reference our FAQs section
for recommended turntable shelf and stand solutions.
- Minimum shelf size is 19"d x 24"w, but adding a couple of inches to each dimension is recommended, especially when implementing longer tonearms.
Outside the USA and Canada:
We will work with you on compliance with local standards in your country. Depending on your country (and whether you have a local dealer), you may
need to source your own battery and charger. If this is the case, We will arrange a purchase credit, and we will will provide
