A word about our philosophy and our cartridge and equipment recommendations ...

Galibier has always been first and foremost a turntable company. Our interests are your interests and we want you to make the best sound you can with your analog front end.

We are not and never will be a mass retailer and we will not compete on price. You will not find a shopping cart on this website. The service does not end after you purchase from us.

In advising you, it is our philosophy that you should purchase the right piece of gear the first time. Getting three "good deals" serves neither your musical enjoyment nor your checkbook.

We've learned that you cannot trust an analog appraisal based on a post on a forum. Certainly we recommend that you read everything you can, so that you can triangulate on the truth through others' commentary.

Realize however that a small deviation in setup can change a seemingly bland, undynamic cartridge/arm combination into one that will shake you out of your listening chair when the music demands it. Similarly, other musical attributes can be changed with minor setup tweaks. We are not talking about the basic geometry parameters of overhang, azimuth, and VTA, although certainly these play a significant role in how your system will sound.

While on the subject of musical dynamics, note that this is a Galibier strength, and an arm cartridge combination that sounds bland on another turntable will sound considerably more alive on a Galibier - without sounding edgy in the least. Of course, we can advise you on other tonearm/turntable combinations - to the extent that we have experience of them.

Toward this end, we encourage you to discuss your current analog situation with us. While a Dynavector may certainly be your solution, we are just as happy to send you to other friends of ours if we sense that this lies in your best musical interest.
